Saturday - 7th Day in Cancun

We're having our last full day in Cancun! The Cancun Palace has been a great place to stay for our group of 18 (including the 9 high school seniors from Chapin High School). For the Coker family, this has been our 5th stay at the Cancun Palace. Each time gets better! All of the Cancun Palace employees are great. We want to mention some special Cancun Palace employees providing outstanding service this week: Josue, Margarita, Manuel, Eber, Michael, Jairo, Jesus, Nelson, and Romeo.

If you are looking for a great Cancun vacation, you should consider any Palace Resort in Cancun or the Rivera Maya. All Palace Resorts offer great rooms, fantastic value with amenities, a selection of included trips, shows and activities (free!), great food and drinks, and wonderful employees providing excellent service. It's all-inclusive! Questions? Contact Mel Coker (I can offer you special pricing on your vacation trip to Cancun at Palace Resorts)

On Saturday, we enjoyed another day at the beach and pool. All of the girls were finally up by Noon after enjoying a night of socializing. The Coker's walked the beach to the Beach Palace Resort and on the way stopped at the Scorpion Temple. After returning to the Cancun Palace, the Coker's and Alexander's took the city bus for a quick tour of the Sun Palace resort.

The girls typically order room service for their meals. The Alexander's and Lepper's went to the steak restaurant and the Coker's and Wilson's went to the Mexican restaurant. After dark, the girls were headed for more socializing.

Friday - 6th Day in Cancun

Another beautiful day in Cancun! The girls slept late again. The Coker's and Alexander's visited the Sun Palace in the morning. Back at the Cancun Palace, Jaro, our chef at the pool, again cooked some very tasty grouper for us. It was another day of sunning and games at the pool.

We played pool and beach volleyball. Today, we had our first very brief rain shower. For dinner, we are going to the Cancun Palace Steak Restaurant.

Thursday - 5th Day in Cancun

Another great day at the Cancun Palace in beautiful Cancun. The fishing expedition started early for Bill, Luke, Lisa, Amy, Layla, and Ashlee. They left at 6:30 on a charted fishing boat for fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. They had a great time catching 9 fish, including the big fish of the day caught by Luke. Bill's chartered boat: Beluga

The other Chapin Seniors spent the day again at the Cancun Palace pool. They are all working on really nice tans. Several competed in various fun games by the pool. After dinner, some were headed for more nighttime entertainment. Rumor has it on Wednesday night, Layla won the bikini competion at Senor Frogs!

The adults not on the fishing trip spent more time at the pool and beach. We met more new friends from Virginia. We also watched our Louisana friend, Mike, win the poolside dance competion. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Lenardo, the Cancun Palace Italian restaurant.

Wednesday - 4th Day in Cancun

This day started early... departure at 8:00 from the Cancun Palace for our Tulum / Xpu-Ha trip. This trip took about 2 hours to drive south into the Mayan Riveria. All of the girls really enjoyed the history of the Mayan civilization at Tulum. They also enjoyed some time on the beautiful beach at Tulum.

After leaving Tulum around 1:30 p.m., we headed back north on our bus to the Palace Resort at Xpu-Ha. First order of business was a nice lunch. Then the girls headed in different directions. They had opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, or time at the pool. They could also view thezoo/eco park at Xpu-Ha. We left around 5:00 for the bus ride back to Cancun Palace. This was a great trip (even though we had one girl about to have non-compliance with posted "No Topless" signs)!

Tuesday - 3rd Day in Cancun

Another day at the beach in Cancun! The girls enjoyed more time in the sun at the pool and beach. Several took a LONG walk on the beach to the Beach Palace Resort and back. Some played pool games.

It was the 25th wedding anniversary for Blair and Lisa Wilson. It was announced by the bartender that Blair had set a record the previous day at the bar. Mel, Barbara, Jim and Lenora went parasailing. For dinner, the adults went to eat at the Japanese restaurant and again at the
Steak house. It was a big dinner night!

Monday - 2nd Day Report

Another day at the Cancun Palace pool and beach. The girls enjoyed a paper airplane flying contest, water aerobics, and beach volleyball. Jamie accused a new friend of Mel's of cheating to win the paper airplane contest. As I report in on this blog, the girls have headed to Dady'O Nightclub.

The adults also enjoyed beach and pool and beach volleyball. We also met new friends from New Orleans and Salt Lake City. We signed up today for a trip to Tulum on Wednesday. Dinner tonight was at the Cancun Palace.
